OUR HISTORY

Our roots extend back to 2014, when we were born as Healthier Colorado. We spent over a decade as a nonpartisan 501(c)(4) organization successfully advocating for the health and well-being of Coloradans in tandem with our 501(c)(3) organization, The Fund for a Healthier Colorado. We then decided to bring our unique capacity and approach to other states. 

To facilitate that growth, we launched Healthier United and The Healthier United Fund in 2026. These two organizations now work in states across the country to improve public health and build a future in which every American has a fair chance at living a healthy life. They also serve as the national umbrella organizations for state-based subsidiaries (including the original Healthier Colorado) and a family of complementary organizations we have built along our journey.
